Once again - consider the consequences!

It has been several days since I've written about boycotting the Olympics, but the proof of my last rant is in "the pudding" - China's pudding that is!

I think that many major corporations could possibly weigh in and put the pressure on the Chinese government, but depending upon that from the corporate world would probably be too much of an expectation.  Perhaps there are companies that have a conscience, but finding those would probably be as difficult as finding a Chinese restaurant that serves no friend rice.

There was an interesting article regarding Coca-Cola's "conscience", perhaps because their influence is held to a "higher level"; so says the article.

The grand paradox is this: countries constantly complain about human rights abuses, but hardly do they put their money where their mouths are.  There remains a chance that some of these countries (France recently leading the way) can step up the pressure to not only embarrass the Chinese, but put a real crimp in their massive August cocktail party.

The Olympics are just a mere two weeks in the life of the world, but what happens after the Games are over?  Life will go on (terribly) for the people in China.  If the world could just collectively realize the massive damage they could do to China, it may not make them change, but it would put enhanced pressure on this gargantuan country to start easing the abuses, and quite possibly bring this devil country into the 21st century.  Come on, human rights is not a new topic people!  It is an issue that has been raised by man since the dawn of time.  Could we not surely influence a way for a brighter Chinese morning.

Human rights abuses

The latest crackdown in Tibet only serves to amplify China's horrible record of human rights.  Why this country is hosting the Olympics is quite beside me.

As in anything, it is all about the gluttony of money, and in this case the very few in China that possess any type of wealth - even modestly. Their leaders are in the tiny rich class.  A sad state of affairs darkens this country of some 1.5 billion individuals.  That amount of people is incomprehensible in relationship to the amount of daily oppression and sorrow that happens there on a daily basis.

But yet, the powers that be are standing by idly while people, culture and free thinking is being smashed - just watch Tibet now.  China never had any business annexing Tibet, for prior to the 1950's, it was a free country filled with many rich traditions.  Now, any free thought and assembly (a cry for help) is being smashed to pieces by the People's Liberation Army - whose liberation is it anyway?

Why can there no be serious condemnation by the free nations of the world? Why to merely sit around while people are being further oppressed and suffocated of their basic human rights?

Normally, I would not post political stands on this blog.  Actually, it is my first serious post, but the subject is quite serious.  For all who read this, beware of the consequences which Red China is now perpetrating.  A bold challenge is a total boycott of the Olympics by all nations who value freedom.  En masse refusniks - that is what we should become. For the athletes, I wish  there was another for  all of have worked hard to earn an Olympic berth.  Quite frankly, the city of Beijing is so polluted, I fear for the safety of those competing.

If only this and many more like-minded messages can be spread, perhaps the IOC can be persuaded to take sanctions on the downright evil regime in Beijing.  If a massive boycott were undertaken, it would be a massive blow to China - and perhaps, awaken and embolden the world to finally identify Communism with what it really is - one of the most evil forms of political invention every created by the minds of men!

The Chinese would reel for decades, and it might create a larger microscope to really identify the myriad of evils and tragedies, misdeeds, the poorest of planning, and the most hideous of crimes against humanity - they cannot even control the toxic ingredients which go into their domestic and exported products!

If Bush ever wanted to plant a legacy for himself, let him call for a boycott of the Olympics, starting with the United States to drop out as soon as humanly possible, because time is running out. "Colored lights can hypnotize", and the Chinese have hypnosis down to an art form. Remember the Tibetan people, and do something!!!

Brian’s contemplations

Hey, I am glad to be here, my first blog adventure outside of Word Press.  This inaugural blog is made after creating three different blogs for my library science courses at the University of Alabama this semester.  There is a world of things that I wanna do here, so I will bear with myself in learning this.

I am proudly a Boomer, so take me or leave me.  Soon to come are my pictures, and all that is good and right about the world according to me.  I am so very blessed everyday of my life, and that I haven't gotten to this point in my life speaks to my faith in God and His blessings.

I may rant and rave here sometimes, but please believe, my heritage comes from two passionate cultures - Irish and Serbian.

For this, it does get any better!
